Tanuj was born on 29 november 1987 to Actress Rati Agnihotri and Businessman Anil Virwani. He has completed his schooling from Bombay Scottish School, which followed with the graduation in B.Com from HR College. After this he got a diploma in Advertising and worked with Rediffusion for 6 months.

Purani Jeans is a recent release friendship based movie in which Tanuj played a small town boy who reconnects with his past and tries to mend the mistakes of his life that he committed in his youth and which has been haunting him for the past 12 years. He played a young Siddharth who is living in Kasouli and in the other one, he is also a software engineer. Are you dating Akshara Haasan?
You know, this may sound cliched but we are just friends. We met when she accompanied her mother Sarika to the sets of our movie. And we became friends and like all youngsters we started hanging out together along with the other cast and crew of the movie. But that doesn't mean we are dating.

But there are reports about Sarika not being happy with Akshara for hanging out with you?
I was amused when I read it. I didn't know whether to laugh or smack my head on the wall. They are just rumours.

What's the biggest learning your mother Rati has given you?
She has always told me to be modest. Never allow success go into your head. Film industry is fickle and your fortunes can change overnight. Always stay grounded and never get overawed.
