१४८४ : पोप इनोसंट आठव्याने समिस देसिदरांतेस हा पोपचा फतवा (papal bull) काढला व त्याद्वारे हाइन्रिक क्रेमर व जेकब स्प्रेन्गर यांची सत्यशोधकपदी नेमणूक केली. त्यांची प्रमुख कामगिरी होती जर्मनी मधील तथाकथित चेटूक व जादूटोणा शोधून त्याचा नायनाट करणे. हे 'सत्यशोधन' म्हणजे जर्मनीच्या ईतिहासातील अतिकठोर प्रकरणांपैकी एक होय.
१४९२ : क्रिस्टोफर कोलंबसने हिस्पॅनियोला बेटावर पाय ठेवला व नव्या जगात पाउल ठेवणारा पहिला युरोपियन ठरला.
१५६० : फ्रांसचा राजा फ्रांसिस दुसरा याचा मृत्यू. चार्ल्स नववा राजेपदी.
